Apple's macOS Tahoe Public Beta Sneakily Leaks Ahead of Schedule!

In a surprising twist, Apple has inadvertently rolled out the macOS Tahoe public beta to select Mac users before its official debut!

It seems that some beta testers and developers—who signed up for the macOS Sequoia 15—are instead being greeted with the latest release of macOS Tahoe. This beta version, carrying the build number 25A5316i, is more advanced than the 25A5306g build of the third macOS Tahoe developer beta.

Interestingly, this beta is appearing primarily on Apple silicon Mac models that lack Rosetta 2—most of these machines usually have it pre-installed. Fortunately for those who do, they won't be affected by this accidental release!

Behind the scenes, Apple has labeled the beta as "macOS26PublicBeta1," but for users, it shows up simply as "macOS Tahoe 26 Beta." One eager user even mistakenly installed this beta, thinking they were getting the macOS Sequoia 15.6 RC that launched earlier.

While Apple hasn't officially unveiled the iOS 26, iPadOS 26, or the macOS Tahoe public betas yet, all signs point to a public rollout before the end of July. This little mishap hints that the official release could be just around the corner!
