A Harrowing Brush with Death
In a striking revelation, Andrew Flintoff has opened up about his terrifying car crash while filming for the BBC motoring show Top Gear, stating he believed he was 'dead' in the aftermath of the harrowing incident.
The former England cricketer and TV presenter sustained severe facial and rib injuries when the three-wheeler car he was driving flipped over during filming at Dunsfold Park Aerodrome.
Thoughts of Heaven? Not Quite!
In a new Disney+ documentary titled 'Freddie', Flintoff recounted the traumatic experience. 'I thought I was dead,' he recalled, describing the darkness enveloping him as he lay incapacitated. "I was conscious but couldn’t see anything. I thought, is this it? Just black for the rest of my days?"
Amidst the confusion, he pulled his hat off his eyes, reassuring himself he wasn’t in some heavenly realm, but rather on the Top Gear track. It was only when he looked down to see blood that panic set in—his 'biggest fear' being that he no longer had a face.
