On September 14 at around 5 p.m., local authorities with the Perth County OPP received reports of a suspicious individual operating near Montreal Street, specifically between St. George and St. Andrew Streets in Mitchell. Witnesses described a male who unnervingly approached one of the young victims.
That evening, police were called once again to Lion's Park in Mitchell, where a second young person reported a similar encounter with the suspect.
Charges Filed and Community Response
Following a thorough investigation, the West Perth resident was arrested and now faces two counts of invitation to sexual touching involving minors under the age of 16. The man has been remanded into custody pending bail.
