In a gripping case that underscores the dark realities of human trafficking, a 24-year-old man from Quebec has been charged after a missing girl was rescued in Brampton, Ontario.

On September 9, Peel Regional Police received an urgent tip from Longueuil Police regarding a young girl reported missing, believed to have been the victim of sex trafficking. Authorities swiftly identified a rental home in Brampton as a possible location where the girl could be found.

The very next day, police made a critical move, arresting a man outside the Brampton residence. Meanwhile, investigators successfully located the girl safely at a different site, although specifics about her location were not disclosed. Thankfully, she has since been reunited with her family.

The accused, Nahom Teklahaymanot of St. Laurent, Quebec, now faces serious charges, including procuring and trafficking a person under the age of 18. He was remanded for a bail hearing in Brampton.
