His remarkable achievements have left him with an enviable challenge: finding enough space to showcase his hard-earned medals.
As a crowning achievement, Baggs was honored to serve as the flag-bearer during the closing ceremonies. Expressing his heartfelt gratitude, he remarked, "I was absolutely honoured when I got that call. There are so many amazing athletes in Newfoundland, and to be chosen is something I will cherish for the rest of my life."
Celebrating Excellence and Sportsmanship
Before the festivities wrapped up, five prestigious awards were presented to participants and volunteers of the 2025 Canada Summer Games, with three of those accolades proudly going to Newfoundlanders. The awards underscored not only competitive excellence but also outstanding sportsmanship.
Jamie Randell, the Chef de Mission for Team NL, accepted the esteemed Jack Pelech Award on behalf of her team, recognizing their blend of competitive spirit, sportsmanship, and camaraderie. Overcome with emotion, she expressed, "I was at a loss for words. Everyone involved poured their hearts and souls into these games, and being recognized by our peers is a true honor."
Inspiring the Next Generation

Grateful for the recognition of her hard work, she stated, "This means so much to me. I love what I do and hope to motivate the kids I coach to work hard and give back to the community."
